Here we are again
It’s been a journey here in Guideland. Last month’s shenanigans reminded us just how little we knew about web design when we revamped this website last year, and frankly, how vulnerable we are in that world. So it became time to put some of the lessons Adam’s learned these last 15 months to use, and we redid things. Huge thanks to Chris Molitor for the use of such a bitchin’ WordPress theme, and Tagg Studios, as ever, for the original help with the brand. If you’re looking for menus, hover on the plus sign top right, or click the one bottom left for a surprise or two.
One of the perks of working with WordPress is a design makeover generally doesn’t affect the content. All our words and images are intact, just with a facelift. We might be short a few maps, and some storefront graphics might be oddly-shaped, so be patient and/or let us know. We’re hoping that this massive cleanup will help us bring you more fresh content, help you get around the site more intuitively, and encourage you to try a new restaurant, dry cleaner or barber shop you’ve never been to. We’ll soon be launching web-based advertising opportunities, too, so if you’re a local business owner, and want to reach our 5000+ Facebook peeps, come say hi. We’re closing on some exciting technical advancements here for all of our users, including advertisers, which we’ll let you know more about when it’s done.
And hey, on that note, our Store is back, operational, and totally more badass than ever before.
So today, please join us in celebrating the relaunch of our most awesome website. Vote, check out the signage, follow us on Twitter if you’re there, and get comfortable. The best is yet to come.
