Clark's Pet Emporium

With two locations in town, Clark’s is the place for exotic fish, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, not to mention terrariums and aquariums to house them. It’s the local, home-grown equivalent of the larger chains that stock small animals and any kind of pet food under the sun, with employees who really do care about animals.

Southwest Veterinary Medical Center

Technically, the Southwest Veterinary Medical Center is in Corrales, but it’s just barely in the southern-most edge of the town, and it’s still the best vet clinic in the Albuquerque area. In fact, anyone who has ever visited Dr. Daniel Levenson and his friendly staff will tell you the same thing: “WE LOVE HIM.”

Tulliver’s Natural Pet Food

A Santa Fe import, this small, cozy shop lacks the hallmark sad companion-animals-for-sale in the front you’ll see at virtually every other pet store in Albuquerque. Instead, Ellen supports rescue organizations like New Mexico House Rabbit Society and the Albuquerque Animal Humane Association in their rescue and adoption work.
