Review
Delicious, healthy-looking (and –tasting!) produce, mostly grown on the Skarsgard farm in the North Valley. Given the quantity and quality of the vegetables, the price is pretty good – a mite cheaper than you’ll find in the markets. Pick-ups at a variety of locations (see above, or their website for locations out of ABQ) or opt for $5 weekly delivery, if you’re busy, or’ve pitched too many veggies from your bike basket.
That said, we know, we know, they’re pricey. But produce is pricey, regardless, and buying directly from a local farm fosters the farm’s relationship with the community, which results in a healthier local economy, and a healthier you. We also know they’re the Goliath of local farms. But they’re still local, and have no more a footprint at the farmers’ markets than Erda or any other producer. We’ve seen some really good people at the farm over the years, and we’re proud that Albuquerque even has a problem of competing CSAs.
Yes, they changed their name in 2012 to pay homage to the century of farming that Farmer Monte Skarsgard’s family had achieved. Still totally excellent.
