Deli­cious, healthy-looking (and –tast­ing!) pro­duce, mostly grown on the Skars­gard farm in the North Val­ley. Given the quan­tity and qual­ity of the veg­eta­bles, the price is pretty good – a mite cheaper than you’ll find in the mar­kets. Pick-ups at a vari­ety of loca­tions (see above, or their web­site for loca­tions out of ABQ) or opt for $5 weekly deliv­ery, if you’re busy, or’ve pitched too many veg­gies from your bike basket.

That said, we know, we know, they’re pricey. But pro­duce is pricey, regard­less, and buy­ing directly from a local farm fos­ters the farm’s rela­tion­ship with the com­mu­nity, which results in a health­ier local econ­omy, and a health­ier you. We also know they’re the Goliath of local farms. But they’re still local, and have no more a foot­print at the farm­ers’ mar­kets than Erda or any other pro­ducer. We’ve seen some really good peo­ple at the farm over the years, and we’re proud that Albu­querque even has a prob­lem of com­pet­ing CSAs.

Yes, they changed their name in 2012 to pay homage to the cen­tury of farm­ing that Farmer Monte Skarsgard’s fam­ily had achieved. Still totally excellent.
