Will this madness end? Local genius Dennis Apodaca opened this place (named after Mom, who works there sometimes) as the third in his dynasty of quirky family-run dives, all within a quarter-mile strip. (The others being the nationally-recognized Sophia’s Place and hidden-away Ezra’s Place.) Late breakfast, late lunch, espresso. Simple food with crazy-good flavors: burgers, burritos, the best chorizo scramble dot-anywhere-dot-ever, with chorizo like you never had because it’s his own thing. And then he’ll throw in a special like soft-shell crab sandwich with aioli. Or the infamous huitlacoche mushroom burger. Anything with a sauce, a pepper, a spice: it’ll juice you. Check it.
